Ellen's Tale goes weekly on Morgen Bailey's Novel Nights In

Last year I had great hopes of The Ancestor’s Tale hitting the book shelves.  The year began well then rapidly then unexpectedly turned into a trip over the Niagara Falls in a barrel.  The fourth in the Sefuty Chronicles languished , trapped half in and half out of my imagination and the screen.  With a heart beat that was minimal, there was little to do but sleep.  I know the summer wasn’t brilliant but there was some sun, I am sure there was some sun, however I missed it all, curled up under the duvet and The Ancestor’s Tale continued to hammer on the doors of imagination in vain.

They medical profession have sorted me out - sort of - I am back at the computer, determined, with luck and a following wind, to complete it this year.  I have in mind, as I am still unable to put in a full day’s writing, to launch the Ancestor’s Tale towards the end of the year. I had completed 3/4 of the first draft last year so it isn’t going to be from scratch.  I have completed the first draft now and the first red ink run through has started:(

It has been a long while since Jack’s Tale, the third of the series, appeared and now nearly four years since the first of the series, Ellen’s Tale came out.  Memories are short and life moves on, so this year I am parading all three over the months, to remind those who waited in vain last year, where they were! And to gather those who have not sampled this world of the future. Each book in turn and the whole series so far will be toured and spotlighted at various venues during the next six months and Ellen has begun her rounds.

Now Ellen’s Tale is going to escape from the round of special offers and is being allowed to go free.  Morgen Bailey who is one of the busiest people around has begun a section on her blog called Novel Night In.  Novel Nights In is a platform to put out a novel in instalments, once a week for 10 weeks.  One novel on Saturday nights and another on Sunday nights.  Not only is this a great idea for those who would like to find a new author to read but Ellen has decided she would fit the picture well.

Well, dividing a novel up into 10 equal parts is not as easy as Ellen would have it, especially one that hasn’t been written in the style off, or even word counted chapters:( Never mind I have managed and Ellen is ready to roll.

So for those of you who have never dipped a toe into my hopeful dystopian world of post climate change, you are cordially invited to try it now.

Ellen’s Tale is a love story, not a romance, there are no pink bows and ribbons.  Two love stories in fact.  Two researchers  in 2161(one love story) following the events of fifty years previously through archival material concerning Ellen Welfitt and Bix Sefune in 2111 (second love story).  The events bring to light some of the history of the Great Climate Wars of 2061.  So the story takes the reader through a hundred year time span.

Love between a Feral (Bix) and a City girl (Ellen) is considered an impossibility not least because Ferals have been genetically altered as children to better serve in the armies of the City.

Love between two citizens of the City (archivists) is actively discouraged and best kept secret.

Ellen’s Tale is where hope for the remnants of this world rests.

Pull up a seat this Saturday night 23rd March over at Morgen Bailey’s Novel Nights and follow Ellen and Bix as they make a bid for happiness for themselves.
